Correspondence
A disputed observation
A correction begins with a passage and a paper precise enough to compare.

A correction earns its place by changing the sense of an experiment: the wrong population, a mistaken unit, an outcome described too broadly or a missing qualification. The reading list identifies the reports at issue, and each essay can be compared with its original source.
Publication corrections
A useful correction would identify the page, reproduce the disputed sentence and name the relevant paper with its DOI or PubMed identifier. The important addition is the actual disagreement: for example, whether a value describes an increase from baseline or the final measured concentration.
An error in timing would particularly bother me. I want the clock to be right. The moment of an observation, the length of exposure and the interval being counted can alter what an experiment appears to show. A clear correction gives those particulars enough room.
Personal medical records and requests for treatment do not help resolve a publication dispute. The purpose here is to make an account of research more accurate.
